The Lost Land of Yehey Trailer

For the past two years or so, Markus and I have been working on a collaboration project together. In those two years, this project has had many faces. It began as a grandiose story, but was then boiled down to a simple children's book. We thought that was the best way to tell the story, but we realized that it lost a lot of it's charm and epic scale. So we were unsure of how to proceed and were really trying to choose the right medium. We even toyed around with turning it into a graphic novel or online comic. After many brainstorming meetings and hitting the wall over and over, it finally dawned on us, an animated adventure web series. The workload would be heavy, but it's the only way to give the story the respect it deserves.

After we finally decided on creating an animated series, Markus started working on the trailer. He's been diligently working on it in his spare time for the past three months. We've titled our project, "The Lost Land of Yehey". It's an animated, action-adventure web series that tells the story of a young boy and girl that are in search for the fabled Lost Land of Yehey, a place where dreams and impossibilities become reality. When the two young protagonists stumble upon their grandfather's old journal, chronicling his adventures in the search for Yehey, they decide to continue his search and embark on an adventure that will change the world forever.

It's been an amazing journey watching the world that we created together come to life, and I can't wait to see how it will grow. So far It's truly been a labor of love, and sometimes frustration. However I'm so excited to share this with you, and I hope that you are able to join us on this journey to "The Lost Land of Yehey".

Busan eFM 90.5 Radio Interview

Back in February, Markus and were asked to do a radio interview on Midnight Rider. It's an amazing program on Busan's only English radio station. The radio station is really popular amongst Busanites and almost all of them know DJ Chad Kirton and Midnight Rider. I was really surprised that they asked us to do the interview, but it was really exciting. I've already been on Korean TV and in the newspaper, so the next natural step was radio. I still can't believe that I was even featured on all those things. It's so funny how things work out.

Before our interview, I was really nervous. I was worried that I was going to sound idiotic or repetitive. Markus and I practiced our answers so many times. I had everything down to a science. I knew exactly what I would say. I kept saying my answers over and over. When we got to the station, I forgot everything. It all just disappeared and my nerves took over. Then, I started to get really anxious. When we finally met Chad and talked for a bit, he kept reassuring me. He kept saying, "No worries. It's cool."

When we finally started the interview, I was still nervous, but the more we talked with Chad, the worries just disappeared. Chad is incredibly awesome and really easy to talk to. I felt like I knew him for ages and he really is an awesome radio DJ. Chad is such an awesome guy. He's really knowledgeable and so personable. He's really great at his job and made the experience much more amazing.

Being on the radio was definitely one of the highlights of our life in Korea. It was an incredible experience and I can't believe that it happened. I'm so thankful that Markus and I were both able to do it and that we met Chad. It will be an experience that I will always remember and one that I will always cherish.

How We Met | His Version

This is the story of how Markus and I met, told from his perspective. One day, I will make my own version. I never knew his side of the story. I'm the one that always tells the story, so it was nice to finally hear his side of the story.

I love this boy. He's so amazing. Check out his other vlogs and website! He's so talented and so funny and I'm honestly his biggest fan.

Happy Christmas 2012 from Busan, South Korea

This year we decided to make a Christmas video instead of sending out Christmas cards again. We took silly photos in the hopes of sending out cards, but I ran out of time. I don't know how time got away from me. Although, I think the video is much better than the cards because it shows what our life is like as teachers in Korea.

It's a bit hard being so faraway from home during the holidays, but thankfully Markus and I have each other. It's been a bit easier because we can have a Cruz Family Christmas. Even though we haven't been home for about 15 months, Markus and I have been able to create some amazing memories. So with that dear readers, I wish you and yours a Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year.
